Why do People Feel the Need for Religion?
Humans are the universe itself coming to consciousness (understanding itself.) We are children.
This is a very frightening prospect, so we invented gods to be able to cope with it.
Instead of rejoicing in the marvelous complexity and struggle of evolution to get where we are, we decide there must be a higher power - a “God” who is watching over us. This is a very dangerous idea.
