Can You Prove Me Wrong About
The More You Know, The More You Can Know?
What does this really mean? Everybody’s brain is “wired” to be gifted in some area. If we develop this part of the brain, we become outstanding in a particular field, e.g. mathematics or music.
The brain is like a computer. The more we think, the more connections between neurons we “make.” Learning how wolf packs operate might not seem to make sense in our everyday lives, but it does. It teaches us how nature (and us) has evolved.
The more you know, the better decisions you can make. This applies to everything — things you can think of (and everything you can’t!) For exampe, I was recently speaking with somebody about his diminishing stock portfolio. He was complaining that his dividend-paying stocks were dropping their dividends to one penny. He said they might as well go to zero. I informed him that with a zero dividend, the mutual funds (being based on dividend-paying stocks) would have to liquidate their stocks in those companies; further driving down his portfolio. With a one cent dividend they could continue to hold these stocks.
Religion, politics, and the future of the human race all depend upon this critical-thinking process.
One of my complaints about religions, unions and governments, is that they want you to not use your mind. They want to control you. The brain is like a muscle. The more you use it, the more it grows.
