Time for a Change to Reality
All men are created equal. Or is it all white men are created equal, since many of the signers of our Declaration of Independence were slave owners? So they were liars or believed non-whites were inferior. This is just one example of the fraud that has governed our consciousness throughout history. When Galileo proclaimed that the earth was not the center of our solar system, he was placed under house arrest for the remainder of his life. But he stuck to his principles and wouldn’t be coerced into recanting.
I imagined speaking to a hall of pastors. I asked how many believe in the scriptures of the bible. All raised their hands. I asked how many believe there is a heaven. All raised their hands. I asked how many believe they are good people and are going to heaven. They all raised their hands. I asked if they thought they were better off than many of the world’s truly poor. Many reluctantly raised their hands. When I brought up the passage “It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God,” they were shocked. Who are you to question our right to go to heaven? After a few more examples, such as God taking David to the Promised Land and telling him that was their land (not taking into account the thousands of people who already lived there.) I began to explain what reality is.
Reality is not what we want it to be. It is what it is. The Cosmos is 13.7 billion years old. Our solar system is 4.567 billion years old. That .567 billion years is 567 million years. We are children of the universe. We are the universe itself coming to consciousness. We invented Gods (over 10,000) to see us through our early childhood. The time for this fraud has come to an end.
Would you stop at a red light if there were no police? 90% of us would because of accidents. But most of us are ingrained with a sense of right and wrong. Which leads to the idea that we are good because we should be; not because we have to be.
