Prove Me Wrong about Health Care and Our Leaders?
To the Humans of Planet Earth:
Throughout history it can be shown that our leaders have used fear and lies to control the “little people.” In recent times, US and Soviet leaders used those tactics to stoke fear which led to the 50 year cold war. The Russian and American people are not bad people - our leaders are.
Based on genetics we are all brothers and sisters and this is provable. President Obama preaches friendship, not war. People with entrenched attitudes, such as those in the defense industry and religious leaders, have a vested interest in stopping this. The amount of outright lies and fraud by these leaders is staggering!
The U.S. Republican strategy is a prime example of these tactics. The leaders of South Carolina are against health care reform, even though 20% of South Carolinians don’t have medical insurance. Why? They are more interested in the payoffs they receive from the insurance companies than their own constituents.
The citizens of Minnesota have done a fine job of taking care of their citizens as far as health care is concerned. But just as the U.S. as a whole responded in their time of need and helped rebuild the span when the Mississippi bridge collapsed, it is the duty of Minnesotans to respond to the health care crisis in this country. I’m forced to purchase uninsured motorist liability insurance. Should I have to do this? Yes, because it spreads the risk to all honorable drivers that abide by the law. This is not fair, but it is the best solution to cover the poor, cheats and con artists. The cheaters can be fined or imprisoned for their lack of social values, but not currently in health care.
Let’s apply this to the health care issue. Every purchase you make has a hidden tax to cover the poor (emergency room visits, etc.) Most employees have health care through their employers. The companies add this cost to their product cost. A single payer option plan would shift this cost from employers to tax payers, but would cost much less in the long run and spread the cost to all. As far as the death panels are concerned, I would much rather have a panel of informed physicians and health care advocates deciding on an operation rather than the insurance company’s death panels who have a vested interest in making money. To those who oppose socialism, I say which socialist program do you want to delete - national defense, army, navy, marines, coast guards, air force, fire fighters, police, teachers, medicare, social security? These are all socialistic programs that serve us well.
A note to Christians: Jesus wants health care for all of his children, no matter what the cost.
